2004 Johan Gustavsson Bluesmaster. YES this is one that came JUST after the famed “Wildwood 5”. I have hoarded this in my collection for many years. I just don’t play it. This is as close as you will get to a vintage guitar.
THE FIRST Gustavsson Goldtop in the US. This is also the FIRST Gustavsson to feature a 1-piece Honduran Mahogany Back. As you can see from the Spec/Condition Sheet & pictures this instrument is in Excellent Condition. It has been lovingly cared for and not gigged.
Tonally this guitar will blow you away. THICK with that glassy top like an old Strat. You can get the growl you lust for. The JG shape also takes a touch of that “woofiness” out of the equation.
Yeah this has a Brazilian Rosewood Board. The guitar is lightly chambered (Thus the upper-7-pound weight). It somes with a form fit tweed case. Not certain if it’s original but it’s high quality and clean.
You can get a later JG with P90s but the SUPER early ones like these command a huge premium. Add the fact it came from my personal collection…and you are grabbing something that was truly handpicked by someone who has owned everything modern & can keep anything I want. I have VERY few guitars that make the cut into my collection.
Why am I selling it? Simple…..just found I have fallen in love with Teles and really just have not played it. I have a stupid rule about adding when I sell. I got a ’51 Nocaster so this will go. Keeps me honest.
